New Weight loss tool

Strata Med is pleased to announce our newest tool in the battle to control weight. Semaglutide (also known as Wegovy or Ozempic) is a medicine used for weight loss in specific patients, to lower blood sugar levels, and reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events such as heart attack or stroke in type two diabetes patients.

Semaglutide is not for use in people with type 1 diabetes.

Each of the different Semaglutide brands (Wegovy or Ozempic) are FDA approved for different conditions. Each is delivered on the same day each week by subcutaneous injection to the abdomen. Dosage is gradually increased each week, depending upon how well a patient tolerates the dose. Side effects are generally mild but should be reported to your health care provider immediately.

Semaglutide works to lower high blood sugar by increasing the amount of insulin that is released, lowering the amount of glucagon released, and by delaying gastric emptying. Semaglutide also controls appetite and so helps you reduce the amount of food that you want to eat. Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonist.

Semaglutide is a medication for chronic weight management used in conjunction with diet and exercise. When used in conjunction with lifestyle changes, this weight loss drug can be effective in helping patients lose excess weight. Semaglutide helps control your appetite and so helps you reduce the amount of food that you want to eat.
