Our clinical team is headed by board-certified Cardiologist, Internist, and Electrophysiologist, Michael J. Barber. He received his PhD with distinction in Physiology from Loyola University in Chicago. Dr. Barber attended the Indiana University School of Medicine where he received his MD, as well as the University of Virginia for residency, and Duke University for Cardiology and Electrophysiology fellowships.

As an expert in his field, Dr. Barber holds several medical fellowships and serves on advisory boards and committees within these professional organizations. He holds fellowships with the American College of Cardiology, the Heart Rhythm Society, and the American Heart Association.

Dr. Barber’s areas of focus are cardiovascular disease, integrative cardiology, internal medicine, hypertension and lipid abnormalities, executive wellness, and IV nutritional therapies.

Grant Jones, Vice President of Wellness at Garden of the Gods Resort & Club

Grant Jones is a distinguished, veteran, health and wellness executive with vast experience in the private and public medical industry. He joined Garden of the Gods Resort and Club after most recently serving as Senior Philanthropy Officer for Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation, where he secured philanthropic revenue — contributing to a milestone fundraising campaign raising more than $423M+ from over 200,000 donors.

Prior to Children’s Hospital Foundation, Jones was the Director of Development at Team USA. During his tenure, he created and directed a new philanthropic national fundraising department to raise resources for the highest priority sport-program needs that enhanced elite-athlete performance and developed innovative High-Performance programming.

As a Clinical Researcher for Columbia University of Physicians and Surgeons, Jones oversaw top-line financial, administrative, and operational activities for the multicenter Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN), including developing strategic plans, funding sources, scientific protocols, and research grants.

Pain Management Medical Services, the largest interventional anesthesiology private practice in the nation, enlisted Jones as Private Practice Director where he prioritized, optimized, and enhanced operational effectiveness and efficiency.

As the Vice President of Wellness, Jones serves on the resort’s strategic leadership team and oversees STRATA Med Body Fit, directing its innovative clinical practices and operations, luxury spa, and fitness enterprise. Additionally, he assists in further integrating health and wellness into guest amenities and club member experiences, as well as contributing to the resort-wide vision of becoming a nationally and internationally recognized wellness destination.

Ron Apgar, LPC, CEAP - Director of Wellbeing

RON APGAR, LPC, CEAP – Director of Wellbeing

Ron Apgar has more than 25 years of experience primarily spent at his private practice in psychotherapy, including a focus on depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, stress and emotional adjustments, fostering creativity, transformation and self-discovery, interpersonal and relational enhancement, communication, and conflict resolution.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from San Diego State University, and a Master’s Degree in Theology from Biola University. Ron studied educational psychology at Princeton Theological Seminary and clinical psychology at Chapman University.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP), Ron focuses on organizational consulting and training, leadership and executive functioning, performance and achievement, communication and conflict resolution skills, individual and team group interactions, and individual counseling.

Angie Barber, RN, BSN, Registered Nurse

ANGIE BARBER, RN, BSN – Registered Nurse

Angie Barber has over 30 years’ clinical experience in patient care in the areas of critical care medicine, cardiovascular medicine, cardiac implantable devices, and general nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at the University of Evansville, and has expertise in cardiac testing, general internal medicine, and administering intravenous fluids and medications.

As the Clinical Liaison and Nursing Coordinator for the Intravenous (IV) Therapy Program, Angie specializes in the administration of IV nutritional therapies and cardiovascular services.

Allison Curtis

Allison Curtis, MS, RDN – Director of Integrative Nutrition

Allison has over 15 years of professional experience in the field of Nutrition and Wellness.  She earned her Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Colorado State University and completed a supervised practice program to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in 2005.

Allison has worked in a variety of settings, helping translate the science of nutrition to assist individuals in making positive, healthy lifestyle changes.  She provides nutrition counseling for a wide range of issues and offers a holistic approach to chronic disease prevention and treatment.   Allison likes to say “progress, not perfection is the key to sustainable lifestyle change.”  She uses this approach to help empower people to achieve their optimal wellness.

Allison is thrilled to join the STRATA team.  She states, “STRATA’s integrative approach to health and wellness and ability to provide a vast array of services is the gold standard in disease prevention and treatment.”  Allison believes that good nutrition is the foundation of health and is excited to be part of an organization that shares and supports her philosophy.

Kellie Gragg, MPH, RDN, CDR - Director of Nutritional Services

KELLIE GRAGG, MPH, RDN, CDR – Director of Nutritional Services

Kellie Gragg is a registered and licensed dietitian, registered with the American Dietetic Association. She earned her undergraduate Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Texas Christian University, and her Master’s Degree from the Walden University School of Public Health. She is certified in Adult Weight Management and Diabetes Management by the American Dietetic Association and certified in Sports Nutrition by the American College of Sports Medicine.

Kellie is focused on individualized nutrition, sports nutrition, nutrition and disease (diabetes, heart disease), rebalancing nutrient status, maximizing daily energy levels, improving sports performance, promoting healthier lifestyle habits, physical activity, stress management, and personal wellness.

Mark Harry, RDCS, RVT - Diagnostic Cardiovascular Specialist

MARK HARRY, RDCS, RVT – Diagnostic Cardiovascular Specialist

Mark Harry, Diagnostic Cardiovascular Specialist, has spent the past three-plus decades as a technician, director, author, educator, and manager in the field of Echocardiography. He received his training in Echocardiography at Mayo Clinic Rochester. In 2014, he retired from full-time employment as a manager at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs to pursue private consulting.

Mark’s primary focus is cardiovascular diagnostic services, including non-invasive vascular and cardiac exams, to assess for vascular disease or disorders.

Tracy Iverson is an expert in physical fitness and lifestyle design. With over 15 years of experience in strength training, rehabilitation, performance-based nutrition and exercise consulting, executive coaching, and post-injury rehabilitation, Tracy has worked with a wide variety of clients including world-class athletes and executives.

Tracy’s expertise is on personalized fitness training, nutritional supplements, pre- and post-workout meals, skinfold caliper bodyfat testing, strength training, and optimizing healthy living.

Kimberly Klein, SPMI, NCBTMB – Structural Physiology Movement Integration Specialist

For over 26 years, Kimberly Klein has been practicing Structural Physiology Movement Integration (SPMI) — a Chinese healing modality that repairs the body from the inside out.

She is a licensed massage and bodyworker, a licensed National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) Continuing Educational Instructor, and a Colorado Brain Injury Representative, with extensive training in Qi Gong, Allopathic Integrative Healing Arts, Rapid Release, and Scalar Wave technology. Kimberly’s clientele includes celebrities, corporate executives, and professional athletes.

Kimberly focuses on body alignment, soft tissue injuries, body sculpting, and eliminating toxins in the body.

Stuart Klein, SPMI, NCBTMB – Licensed Massage Therapist

STUART KLEIN, SPMI, NCBTMB – Licensed Massage Therapist

Stuart is a licensed massage therapist, and assists with Structural Physiology Movement Integration (SPMI) therapy.

His primary focus is massage therapy for soft tissue pathology, reduction in muscular tension pain and stress, with enhanced nourishment of the skin. Stuart also provides assistance with SPMI treatments.

Kyle Kolashinkski, LMT, CNMT – Medical Massage Therapist

KYLE KOLASHINSKI, LMT, CNMT – Medical Massage Therapist

Kyle Kolashinski is a certified massage therapist who also specializes in oncology massage therapies. He has been recognized as one of the best massage therapists in Colorado Springs.

Kyle’s primary focus is manual manipulation of soft body tissues, including muscle, connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments to enhance overall health and wellbeing.

Tania McCorkle

Tania McCorkle – Director of Spa and Fitness

McCorkle directs STRATA Integrated Wellness and Spa’s spa and fitness operations and assist in integrating wellness experiences throughout all resort amenities and offerings.   Tania has had a distinguished career in wellness resort destinations, executive spa leadership and athletic health club operations. As recent Spa Director at Canyon Ranch Wellness Resort, McCorkle oversaw all areas of the spa, including its programs, services, facilities, and staff. She was responsible for creating inspired, industry-leading spa and sports services centered around life-enhancing properties aligning with the resort’s wellness brand.

Before that, McCorkle held spa and fitness leadership roles at Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa, Lakeway Resort and Spa, The Downtown Club in Houston, Club One Incorporated and The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa. McCorkle, born in Cape Town, South Africa, is also a world-class athlete having been an award-winning member of the U.S. National World Netball Championship Team and an accomplished cyclist and triathlete.

Kelli Miller, L.AC, DIPL.AC, MSOM, MSPSY – Licensed Acupuncturist

Kelli Miller has been a Licensed Acupuncturist since 2001. She is experienced working on patients with health conditions ranging from headaches, insomnia, gastrointestinal disorders, neck and back pain, and sports-related injuries, to chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, psychological and neurological disorders, and cancer.

While Kelli incorporates highly specialized approaches into her practice (such as scalp acupuncture to treat disorders including Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and post-stroke sequelae), she remains true to the time-tested holistic traditions of the ancient Chinese art of acupuncture.

Kelli’s focus is on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture to improve functions in the body and promote the natural self-healing process, including relieving discomfort and chronic pain associated with a variety of diseases and conditions.

Melinda Poland, RNC, MSN, WHCNP – Nurse Practitioner

RNC, MSN, WHCNP-BC has been practicing obstetrics and gynecology for 25 years.  Special areas of interest include, metabolic syndrome (PCOS), endocrinology to include thyroid disorders, urogynecology, infertility, pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction, contraception methods, hormone imbalance for women ages teens through menopause; with a special emphasis in custom bio-identical hormone replacement.  She likes to incorporate a functional medicine foundation blended with a traditional allopathic medicine model in order to evaluate the whole person. Full physical exam, comprehensive family and personal health history, targeted lab analysis and patient health goals round out the client-centered treatment plan for optimal wellness.

Dr. Karly Powell is a registered naturopathic doctor with expertise in therapeutic nutrition, functional biochemistry, and herbal/botanical medicine. She attended the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, where she received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) and completed her Residency in Naturopathic Primary Care.

Dr. Powell specialize in hormonal disorders, functional biochemistry, therapeutic nutrition and herbal/botanical medicine, chronic diseases, advanced diagnostic testing, genetic analysis, lifestyle coaching, and wellness education.

John Randono, MD - Director of Venous & Aesthetic Medicine

JOHN RANDONO, MD – Director of Venous & Aesthetic Medicine

Dr. John Randono is a cardiovascular surgeon specializing in varicose vein and cosmetic vein care for the past 11 years. He has received advanced training in cosmetic and aesthetic medicine. Dr. Randono holds board certification from the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.

Prior to his recent work, he spent 26 years as a board-certified cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon practicing at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs. He received his medical degree from St. Louis University, his general surgery training was completed in San Francisco, and cardiac surgery training was completed at the University of Utah.

As the Director of Venous and Aesthetic Medicine, Dr. Randono is responsible for clinical and cosmetic superficial vein treatments and aesthetic therapies.

Manuela Spencer (Mela) is a certified Healing Touch Practitioner. She received her certification in Healing Touch from Healing Beyond Borders — an international organization that coordinates research and promotes the work of Healing Touch throughout the world. Mela also studied Swedish massage techniques through the Collinson Massage School.

Mela’s objective is to assist individuals with the healing process, including physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. She enjoys helping others live energetic, positive lives by tapping into the body’s energy source.

Micah Sutton, DC – Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine

Micah Sutton has more than 15 years of experience within the chiropractic field. She focuses on adjusting individuals’ spine and body, as well as shifting awareness towards a more vital and energetic way of living through one-on-one patient care and patient care plans.

Dr. Sutton received her Doctor of Chiropractic from Life University, a leading chiropractic and holistic health university in Marietta, Georgia. She empowers patients to take responsibility for their own holistic wellness by encouraging each to set goals and take steps to achieve their optimal health. Through hands-on adjustments and various techniques, including Sacro Occipital Technique, Thompson Technique, Full Spine Technique, and Torque Release Technique, Dr. Sutton helps facilitate transition to health and well-being.

Dr. Sutton focuses on the structure and function of the musculoskeletal system, in particular the spine or vertebral column and its relationship to the nervous system. Pain-related conditions and neuromuscular disorders are treated through manual adjustments and/or manipulation, myofascial release therapy, and neuromuscular reeducation.

Charlene Wang is a holistic registered dietitian and professor of nutrition, health, and wellness. She earned her Master’s Degree from California State University and completed her dietetic residency at Penrose-St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs. Charlene has achieved certifications in Holistic Health Coaching, Alternative Nutrition, Applied Kinesiology, and BioEnergetic Healing.

Her focus is on energy medicine and energetic purification, healing touch, meditation, aromatherapy, emotional repolarization techniques, crystal healing, and Eastern/Western nutritional medicine.

Shane Wells, DC, FIAMA, P-DTR Master Level – Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine

Dr. Shane T. Wells is a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine and Board-Certified in Medical Acupuncture. A leader in his field, Dr. Wells was a founding member of the International College of Applied Kinesiology-Italy. He is a Master Level practitioner of P-DTR, the cutting-edge system focused on Neuroreceptor Therapy. Having achieved the highest level of certification in the Quintessential Applications protocol, Dr. Wells is specialized in both Applied Kinesiology and Functional Neurology. Dr. Wells also specializes in Electro-Meridian-Imaging AcuGraph.
